Construction Project Manager
Location: County Meath

About the Role
Gi Group Ireland is delighted to partner with an expanding premier structural development and infrastructure specialist to recruit a highly motivated, career-driven, and focused Construction Project Manager.
Due to a significant phase of organizational growth, this newly created role offers an exceptional path for an ambitious professional looking to take full ownership of diverse, high-impact building and infrastructure developments in the Leinster region.
Core Objectives
- Complete Lifecycle Management: Direct, orchestrate, and oversee every phase of construction builds, spanning initial project definition, meticulous planning, active field execution, continuous monitoring, and official project sign-off.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Work hand-in-hand with internal and external stakeholders to lock down project targets, parameters, and concrete deliverables that match client specifications flawlessly.
- Commercial & Timeline Oversight: Formulate and track master master-schedules, financial budgets, and material/human resource allocations to achieve maximum cost efficiency and punctual handovers.
- Technical Integration: Act as the central point of contact for external consultants, design engineers, architects, primary contractors, and specialized trade teams to monitor field progression, iron out design clashes, and uphold strict architectural specs and quality benchmarks.
- Supply Chain Direction: Coordinate end-to-end procurement workflows, including the initial evaluation of incoming bids, rigorous contract negotiations, and final partner selection.
- Financial Stewardship: Administer project cost control and cash-flow budgets while systematically tracking engineering change orders to align with strict financial boundaries.
- Site Governance: Conduct systematic, hands-on site walkthroughs to audit physical field progress, actively mitigate site risks, and ensure full alignment with regulatory frameworks and health and safety requirements.
- Relationship Management: Keep clear, fluid communication channels wide open across the entire project workforce and client base to deliver timely updates, troubleshoot field challenges, and cultivate highly collaborative working dynamics.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Design structural, step-by-step master project plans encompassing time-phased milestones, specific resource allocations, and procurement workflows.
- Direct daily on-site construction operations, ensuring field workflows remain strictly aligned with the master timeline and engineering blueprints.
- Assess and onboard primary contractors and specialized subcontractors based on their technical credentials, past performance history, and commercial viability.
- Audit operational field progress against critical KPIs and synthesize project status reports to present to leadership teams.
- Drive absolute adherence to safety protocols and local statutory regulations to ensure the highest standards of safety for the field crew.
- Supervise the administration of essential project documentation, including formal building permits, execution contracts, blueprint designs, and variation orders.
- Facilitate recurring project team meetings to keep all parties aligned, eliminate site bottlenecks, and meet targets.
- Deliver transparent updates regarding key target milestones, financial budget spending, risk logs, and unexpected site developments.
- Implement and enforce safety policies while ensuring absolute compliance with regional building control regulations and codes.
- Lead post-project closeout evaluations to review financial/operational performance and identify key areas for standard operating procedure improvement.
- Offer clear leadership and clear guidance to the site delivery team, building an environment centred around collaboration and execution excellence.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- Education: A Level 8 Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3+ years of documented track record in a construction project management capacity, with a history of hitting strict deadlines and financial parameters.
- Project Management Skills: Outstanding planning, systemic organization, and multitasking capabilities to manage competing priorities.
- Technical Literacy: Advanced capability in reading, interpreting, and breaking down highly complex engineering blueprints, technical data sheets, and architectural schematics.
- Leadership & Influence: Strong communication skills coupled with the interpersonal leadership required to command field crews and present to corporate stakeholders.
- Software Competence: Experience utilizing modern project scheduling tools, specialized construction management platforms, and cost estimation systems.
- Sustainability: Familiarity with modern sustainable building practices and green construction certifications.
- Logistics: Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to the Trim, County Meath region prior to your start date.
Preferred Criteria:
- An active, formally recognized professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Construction Management.
- Deep structural understanding of commercial risk management techniques and strict budget management protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of local Irish planning permissions, building control processes, and regional statutory approvals.
- Practical familiarity operating within Building Information Modelling (BIM) frameworks and software packages.
- Prior experience managing construction contract disputes, variations, and commercial claims mitigation.
- Working knowledge of Lean Construction practices and agile site management methods.
- High-level commercial acumen with strong experience managing project cash flows and financial cost control.
